About
Colleen Moon was born on May 3rd, 1997 in Massillon, Ohio. Collen has always enjoyed writing her own stories. In her younger years, she loved the enchanting stories that Greek mythology has to offer. As she got older, she drifted from reading and writing for fun. She got back into it in her late teens when she discovered her love for poetry. Today, Moon is a 27-year-old author working towards a bachelor's degree in creative writing at Southern New Hampshire University. She dabbles in multiple forms of writing, but poetry is her favorite. Moon is currently working on an untitled book of poetry. She resides in Ohio and enjoys weekend trips up to Lake Erie where she can think up her next idea while walking through the tide, looking for sea glass.

Works In Progress
What Are the Stars For? is a collection of poetry created to demonstrate the ups and downs of life. In this collection, you’ll explore places like an old theatre, enchanted fairytale lands, and an emotional lagoon. These places are used as metaphors for feelings of depression, loneliness, excitement, happiness, disenchantment, and more. The poems tell stories that help us live out our emotions in a short period.
The words in these poems are designed with one thought in mind: read and feel. This is a collection where your emotions are meant to be felt. Apply the poems to your circumstances and let your mind run free in a safe space. By the time you have finished reading this collection, I’m hopeful you’ll feel some weight lifted off of your shoulders. Some other titles in this collection include December Knows and Last Week which I will preview here.

December Knows
January is a fresh start. Everything is new. December knows.
We're setting goals and getting things done. But, December knows.
We have bright eyes and high expectations. But, December knows.
Time passes us by little by little, yet quickly.
December knew.
January's outlook was only temporary.

Last Week
I was in love last week, now we don’t even speak.
My knees are weak. I cannot sleep.
I was in too deep. I thought our love was unique.
Now the future is bleak, with only memories to keep.

We do not want merely to see beauty… we want something else which can hardly be put into words- to be united with the beauty we see, to pass into it, to receive it into ourselves, to bathe in it, to become part of it. That is why we have peopled air and earth and water with gods and goddesses, and nymphs and elves.
